What do Professional Organizers charge?

The price you can expect to pay for a Professional Organizer varies greatly, usually based on location, experience, and professional training. There are certainly people that understand organization that are willing to charge way less because of their inexperience and/or motivation. Heck, I started as one in 2014! I respect the hustle, and sometimes it’s the right fit for the project. Other times, you get what you pay for.

Then there are those of us that this isn’t a hustle any longer (though being a small business owner will ALWAYS include hustle!). Not only do we have more experience with a wide array of clients and projects, we usually carry more overhead (insurance, professional association dues, ongoing education, taxes etc.), thus, charge more.

I have been an organizer since 2014 (Board Certified in 2019). My skill set and training include executive function coaching and Chronic Disorganization. My approach is less of a magic wand, but learning a new way to think of and approach your stuff and your individual needs. It’s about prioritizing and balancing your wants and needs, your space and stuff, your vision and your reality.

While my heart lies with those struggling on a chronic basis, the specialties Professional Organizers have are many, including, but not limited to, moving, estate sales, photo organization, and financial organization. (Find an organizer near you at NAPO.net)

My recommendation is to talk to a few organizers to find the one you vibe with. Find out what they love about their profession. Having a Professional Organizer in your home can be an intimate process, so trusting whoever you bring in is as essential as their training and cost.
