Things To Do When You are Stuck Inside

In March 2020, the whole world was stuck inside. We found creative ways to entertain and sustain ourselves (raise your hand if you baked your first loaf of bread during 2020 quarantine).

It’s not always a global pandemic today forces you to stay indoors. It could be Mother Nature forcing the respite from the outside world, as is happening in California at this very moment.

I am, by nature, a get-out-of-the-house kind of gal, so spending my time doing things that serve my mental health, both present and future me, helps during the dreary days of winter.

Without further ado, I give you a list of 10 things you can do while stuck in the house.

1. Clean out and inventory the fridge, freezer, and pantry

2. Menu plan and pre-cook/pre-prep what you can.

3. Catch up on laundry

4. Update your clothes. Donate unwanted and, if you have room, store off-season stuff.

5. Update your wall decor

6. Sort, purge, and file your papers, starting with the most recent ones.

7. Systematically go through closets and drawers looking for donations.

8. Go through your games and puzzles. Donate the ones that your family has aged out of or likely wouldn’t reach for again.

9. Treat yo self to an at-home spa day

10. Sort, purge, and replace the contents of a bookshelf (or 2!)

Of course, there are a gazillion other things you can do while stuck in the house (nap, anyone?), but when you struggle to find where to start, maybe this list will help!

What are some other semi-productive things do you like to do when you have no choice but to stay home?
