Is Today the Day you Carpe Diem?

It’s the week after Thanksgiving. I am sure I’m not the only one that had their fill (and then some) over the past few days. Whether you knew you were doing it and your internal monologue was cautioning you to put the second piece of pie down, or it just snuck up on you (maybe even. A little of both), the Monday after the binge-fest can often throw even the most determined of folks.

But what if TODAY, this very day, is the day that you stop beating yourself up and just start with one “attagirl” at a time?

What if TODAY is the day you just made a single choice that you actually WANT to make, you know the kind… the one that deep down is nagging you at your soul level.

What if TODAY was the day you did something you’ve been putting off?

What if TODAY is the day you have a healthier lunch rather than the burger that you’ve occasionally caught yourself thinking about?

What if TODAY is the day you take things one step at a time rather than trying to juggle it all?

What if TODAY was the day you started to learn how to take care of both yourself AND you’re family and felt GOOD about it?

What if TODAY is the day you slow down enough to realize the world doesn’t fly off it’s axis if you take your time, and try to be more intentional.

What if TODAY is the day you called (not texted) that person you’ve been thinking about.

What if TODAY is the day you asked for help in a considerate, meaningful, and clear way?

What if TODAY is the start of something wonderful and beautiful in your life, just by making one small decision that supports the person you are that feels strong, confident, and content? (Some might even call that your “Best Self”, though I happen to believe “Best” implies you could do no better, which I don’t think is possible.)

What if TODAY is THE Day?

What would you do? What would you try? How will you go to sleep tonight feeling satisfied with your today and hopefully for the next one?
